Speaking at Dodger Stadium, Kershaw said, "we are at Dodger Stadium joined by the Dodgers Foundation and Kershaw's Challenge and together we're kicking off the inaugural back to school bash." He noted that 500 students and their families were invited to the stadium to prepare for the school year, a figure he presented directly at the event.

Kershaw explained that attendees included kids from the Los Angeles Unified School District as well as members of the Dodgers Dream Team. The event featured giveaways of backpacks, school resources, and Dodgers merchandise, and General Mills presented the event while providing families with breakfast supplies to help them prepare for the school year.

Kershaw added that the underlying goal of the partnership went beyond the giveaways. "To get kids excited about school, that's really the most important thing," he said.

He also pointed to the Dodgers Foundation's long-standing partnership with the Dream Center, which he said has worked with the community around Dodger Stadium for many years. Kershaw described bringing that community to Dodger Stadium for the first time as a meaningful milestone, calling it "really cool" to host the group at the ballpark for the inaugural Back to School Bash.
