Kyle Tucker delivered a game-winning, clutch hit for the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 22, 2026.
Speaking with reporters after the game, Tucker said, "it was a game-winning hit, it was a clutch hit." He acknowledged he had gone hitless over his previous plate appearances before coming through, noting, "I haven't had a hit in the last three arms hands."
Tucker said he does not focus on tracking his own statistics. "I don't like keep up with stats like that. Just trying to go up there and take the next bat," he explained. He credited the hitters ahead of him in the lineup for setting up the opportunity, saying "the guys in front of me did a great job of getting on base and, you know, putting some pressure on the, you know, other pitching staff."
Tucker praised the starting pitcher for battling back after a difficult first inning, noting the pitcher kept the Dodgers in the game by "putting up a lot of zeros after that." He added that the pitcher "has given us some really good starts um since he's come over here and obviously he's you know, one of the best pitchers in the league for a reason." Tucker also thanked the fans who have supported the team, saying "they come out and support us every single day" and adding "they've been doing their part and supporting us and we just trying to go out there and win games for them." Asked about the ovations fans had given him over the preceding days, Tucker reflected on the support before describing his approach going forward: continuing to capitalize on scoring chances as they come, saying "just as long as we have opportunities and, you know, take advantage of them when we can, it'll be turn out well for us."
