Brock Stewart said on September 12, 2026, that his pitch to Agustin Ramirez missed its intended location and was thrown down the middle.
Stewart said the contact was “definitely location” and explained that the fastball was supposed to be above the zone, where it performs best. Agustin Ramirez hit Brock Stewart’s pitch.
Stewart noted that his sinker and sweeper had also missed their intended locations before the pitch to Ramirez: “I threw a sinker that just missed, threw a sweeper that just missed.” He added, “I'm always working on command.”
Stewart stated that he was fully warmed up and ready to pitch in the ninth inning. He said he had been warming up in case the Los Angeles Dodgers took the lead in the preceding half-inning.
Stewart acknowledged that “it's hard to judge my command today off just four pitches,” leaving his command as the specific area he continues to work on.
