Dave Roberts said on September 15, 2026, that Blake Snell would be evaluated after developing left-groin tightness for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Roberts said Snell's tightness did not loosen up and that Snell alerted the Dodgers early, allowing Roberts to manage his removal before the issue worsened. “we'll see how he comes in tomorrow, how he feels, get some more treatment, and then when we get back to LA, then we can make that decision if we want to get imaging,” Roberts said.
Roberts noted that Snell's return timetable remained uncertain, saying, “no one can sit here right now and say what's going to happen in the next week to 10 days.” He added that Snell “just can't afford any more setbacks” before his eventual postseason start.
The bullpen covered the innings after Snell's exit, with Roberts stating that Bobby Miller pitched two and one-third innings and that Kris Bubic delivered a clean inning for the Dodgers. The Dodgers also optioned Miller.
Roberts stated that Roki Sasaki would not start that weekend against the Giants, while his next outing was expected to be as a start. The Dodgers planned to start Robleski and then use Landon Knack.
Roberts also said Tyler completed a normal bullpen session and would have an extra day before his start on Friday.
