Emmet Sheehan said on September 20, 2026, that he is ready to fill any role the Los Angeles Dodgers assign him going forward, including relief work.

“Whatever role they want me to do going forward, I'm ready to do it,” Sheehan said. The Dodgers may assign any role to Sheehan, according to the relationship described in his comments.

Sheehan plans to maintain his current approach during the final week rather than pursue a specific new objective, describing it as “staying in the same spot.” He also explained that better execution, greater comfort in his delivery and avoiding overexertion contributed to his improved performance.

Sheehan noted that his focus is locating pitches instead of forcing a specific velocity: “I'm going to hit my spot.” He worked with Connor, Mark and Triple-A coaches on speed variation between his fastball and curveball, describing the adjustment as “expanding like the front to back game with the fast ball and the curveball.”

Sheehan stated that his confidence remained intact after he was sent to the minors in August because the Triple-A coaches helped him improve. “My confidence stayed the same the whole time,” he said.

Sheehan added that his previous postseason relief experience gives him a clear understanding of the preparation required to enter a game: “I know what I need to do to be ready to go in the game.” He said his first couple of relief appearances in that postseason featured uneven execution before he felt better as it continued.
