“I'm ready to pitch every day,” Díaz said. He added that he wants to finish the season strongly and have a good postseason.

Díaz said he had been putting in significant work to regain his form after struggling earlier in the year, including a recent stint in Triple-A before returning to the Dodgers. He described throwing a strong bullpen session for Triple-A and asking to pitch again the next day because he felt good.

He evaluated his slider as having strong break and generating chase swings. Díaz explained that his approach is to throw strikes first and then try to make hitters chase, while continuing to work and improve rather than worry that he had lost his mechanics.

Díaz noted that his long experience in the major leagues helps him make adjustments without overthinking. Asked whether he trusted himself, he answered, “100%. Always.”

Díaz wants the Los Angeles Dodgers to keep trusting him and giving him the ball so he can prove he is ready for the postseason.
