Dave Roberts outlined the Dodgers’ Division Series plans on September 27, 2026, saying Tyler Glasnow is one of four rotation candidates and is most likely to pitch in Game 4 rather than work early out of the bullpen.
“I would say most likely game four. I don't see him out of the bullpen early,” Roberts said. He added that the Dodgers are weighing all four candidates and expect to finalize the first-round rotation on Thursday after considering the opponent and schedule. Roberts is discussing pitcher readiness with Mark Prior, who advises him on that assessment.
Roberts noted that Edgardo will throw another live or simulated game and should be ready to return for the Dodgers. Blake is scheduled for a bullpen session today or tomorrow, with his assignment dependent on whether he is selected for Game 1, 2 or 3. Roberts also stated that Freddie Freeman’s swing was affected by his right knee and expects “the best version of Freddy” by Saturday.
Roberts explained that Shohei Ohtani is expected to be healthier and produce his best performance of the last two months. Ohtani is expected to take five to seven at-bats against a live arm while continuing his training work, and Roberts expects him to take those live-arm at-bats for the Dodgers.
Roberts said the Dodgers will hold another watch party on Tuesday and Wednesday with workouts, food and drinks to build team togetherness during the bye. He described the gathering as a way for players and coaches to spend time together instead of “showing up, checking a box to work out, then eject.” Roberts also said the Dodgers have a chance to do something never done in the National League.
