Max Muncy praised the Los Angeles Dodgers' group during a team press conference on October 8, 2026.
Muncy said the division series was difficult because it was a shorter sprint, but the Dodgers stayed ready and competed throughout the series. “The guys hung in there well and we came out ready to play every single night,” he stated.
He noted that inactive players could be as important to winning as active players. Alex Freeland was inactive but energized the Dodgers from the dugout, and Muncy explained that Freeland had understood that role well. “The guys that haven't been active. They've been just as pivotal,” Muncy said.
Freeland also supported the Dodgers by holding a candle and praying, while Muncy described the bench presence as a source of energy for the team. “Alex Freeland had a candle. He was holding it up, PRAYING WITH IT,” Muncy added.
Muncy stated that Tyler Glasnow pitched a great game and was hitting his spots, then said the Dodgers tried to take advantage after the opposing bullpen appeared taxed. He also praised Andy Pages for producing an exceptional at-bat: “Andy P has had an unbelievable bat.”
