Dave Roberts announced on October 10, 2026, that Tarik Skubal is scheduled to start Game 1 for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Yoshinobu Yamamoto is scheduled to start Game 2. Roberts said the rest of the rotation remains under discussion.

“Game one is going to be Skoohulk and then game two is going to be Yamamoto,” Roberts said. He explained that Yamamoto's placement was designed to give him the best chance to potentially pitch two games, including Game 2 and Game 6.

The Dodgers will add another pitching arm and remove a position player to make room, Roberts noted. He also said the team is evaluating Miguel Rojas's availability after an encouraging workout, while stressing that no decision has been made: “There's nothing definitive, but I will say today was a step in the right direction.”

Roberts added that the Dodgers have time to decide on Rojas and will wait until after treatment, travel and another workout: “There's another workout. There's no deadline right now.” He said Edwin Diaz has regained confidence, is throwing as well for the Dodgers as he has all year and is a ninth-inning option whom Roberts trusts to close games.

Roberts described the Milwaukee Brewers' approach as team baseball built on pitching, defense, baserunning, contact and disciplined at-bats rather than merely small ball. He called Milwaukee a confident, improved team with a stronger bullpen than the previous year and said, “At the end of the day, they won 103 games.”

Roberts said Shohei Ohtani's Game 1 batting position has not been finalized but will likely be somewhere between first and fifth. The Dodgers will face the Milwaukee Brewers while continuing to determine the rotation, roster and Rojas's availability.
