Pat Murphy said on October 15, 2026, that Milwaukee would maintain its approach rather than celebrate or change its plans despite holding a 3-0 lead.

“We don't change any there's nothing to change,” Murphy said. He added, “we come out and play the same way every time,” with the focus on winning the next game rather than stopping at the current position. Murphy also described the team’s approach as building “a resiliency and a passion for being in the now.”

Murphy explained that Abner not throwing strikes was unusual after he had appeared in six or seven straight playoff games, according to Murphy. Murphy wanted Abner to face Will Smith, but said “that was going to be his last hitter” after Abner’s command problems and a sinker left over the plate indicated it was time for a change.

DL Hall came in and “just changed the game,” Murphy stated. Murphy attributed the team’s repeated responses after allowing runs to resilience, belief and being locked in, saying, “it's resiliency, it's a belief.”

Murphy noted that Jake Bowers received an opportunity to contribute for the Milwaukee Brewers, found his offensive approach and showed mental discipline at the plate. Murphy said Jake had four 10-plus-pitch at-bats in the 2026 season that ended in a walk or home run. Murphy also described Jackson as not overwhelmed by postseason pressure, saying, “No moment's too big for Jack.”

Murphy said the Los Angeles Dodgers were an incredible team that had won back-to-back championships and stated that the team first assembled for spring training on February 9, 2026. He joked that mentioning Matt Arnold’s role in drafting Blake Snell with Tampa Bay might mean, “I'll probably be let go for tomorrow.” Milwaukee’s stated plan remains to play the same way and focus on the next game.
