Early control defined Chicago's postseason win over Houston. The White Sox established the lead immediately and never gave it back.
Sam Antonacci powered the attack with timely production, while Colson Montgomery added a home run. Chase Meidroth also supplied key offense as Chicago kept pressure on Houston.
Munetaka Murakami's sacrifice fly brought Sam Antonacci home in the opening inning and gave Chicago the lead. Antonacci later singled to bring home Braden Montgomery and Chase Meidroth. Montgomery's home run extended the advantage, and Meidroth's single brought Murakami across.
Houston answered with Nelson Velázquez's home run, which also brought Lucas Spence home, and later scored when Jeremy Peña came around on a throwing error after Jose Altuve reached. The Astros could not close the gap, however, as Chicago's pitching held firm late.
The early rally set the tone for a postseason game shaped by control from the outset. Houston found responses, but Chicago never surrendered the advantage.
