C.J. Abrams was at the center of it, going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and 3 RBIs. He doubled home two runs during the decisive third inning and later added a solo home run to right center in the fifth, extending the lead to 5-2. Jacob Young also reached base three times, scoring a run, while Daylen Lile drove in two runs with a triple.
The third inning swung twice. Arizona struck first when Moreno singled to center, driving in Waldschmidt and Carroll to make it 2-0 before Moreno was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double.
