Milwaukee turned a tight game into a comfortable one with a four-run sixth inning, and that burst was enough to hold off a late charge from Colorado in an 8-5 win at American Family Field.

Cooper Pratt carried the offense, going 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. He opened the scoring with a two-run shot to left center in the second inning, then delivered a go-ahead single in the fourth and a sacrifice fly in the sixth that extended Milwaukee's lead. L. Lara added a two-hit, three-RBI game of his own, scoring twice and driving in a run with a double in the sixth.
The Rockies briefly tied the game in the fourth when Goodman singled to left, scoring both Karros and Carrigg to level it at 2-2. Milwaukee answered right back in the bottom half as Pratt's single to right brought home Bauers for the go-ahead run, a lead the Brewers would not relinquish. The sixth inning put the game away: Lara's double scored both Contreras and Bauers, Pratt's sacrifice fly brought home Mitchell, and Lara later scored on a pickoff error by catcher Fulford, pushing the score to 2-7. Yelich added an eighth-inning sacrifice fly to make it 2-8.
Colorado's offense stirred in the ninth, with McCarthy's single scoring both Rumfield and Sullivan, and Karros later singling in Tovar to make it 5-8. But the rally fell short. Rockies starter Ryan Feltner allowed 5 runs on 9 hits over 5.0 innings and took the loss, falling to 3-5 on the season with a 5.73 ERA. Milwaukee starter Robert Gasser allowed 2 runs on 5 hits across 6.0 innings, striking out four without issuing a walk, and improved to 3-4. Trevor Megill closed it out for his 17th save of the season.
The win moved Milwaukee to 65-39, atop its division, while Colorado dropped to 42-64.
