Baltimore twice pulled even in the late innings, and twice it wasn't enough. Austin Riley's double in the 11th brought home Jorge Mateo and gave Atlanta a lead that held up, sending the Braves to a 3-2 win over the Orioles.

Reynaldo Lopez set the tone for Atlanta's night on the mound, working 5.2 innings and allowing five hits with no runs while striking out six. He handed off a lead that Baltimore chipped away at, but the damage he prevented in the middle innings gave the Braves room to survive the late-game surge.
The decisive sequence came in the 11th, when Riley doubled to right and Mateo scored from the tied 2-2 score, putting Atlanta back in front for good. Baltimore had tied the game an inning earlier at 2-2 when Jackson Holliday grounded out to second, driving in Coby Mayo and moving Leody Taveras to second. Before that, Pete Alonso had cut into the Atlanta lead with a solo homer to left in the eighth. Atlanta's other runs came in the second, when Dominic Smith singled home Michael Harris II, and again in the fourth, when Smith singled to bring in Matt Olson.
Baltimore starter Shane Baz lasted 4.1 innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Andrew Kittredge took the loss after allowing one run over 1.0 inning, with two walks against no strikeouts, falling to 1-3 on the season. Tyler Kinley picked up the win for Atlanta after 1.1 scoreless innings with two walks and one strikeout, improving to 6-4.
The result dropped Baltimore to 51-55, a second straight loss, while Atlanta improved to 62-43 and snapped nothing more than continued its stretch atop the division at 1st place with a 1-game winning streak. Dominic Smith finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while Alonso went 2-for-4 with the homer and an RBI for Baltimore.
