Arizona led for most of the night. Then it didn't. Pittsburgh scratched across single runs in the sixth and eighth innings before Brandon Lowe delivered again in the 10th, and the Pirates walked away with a 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks at PNC Park.

Lowe was in the middle of everything. He finished 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs, driving in a run with an infield single in the sixth and then doing it again in the 10th, reaching on an infield single to first that brought Billy Cook home with the winning run. Bryan Reynolds also had a hand in the comeback, going 1-for-4 with an RBI double that tied the game in the eighth.
Arizona had built its lead in the sixth inning when Max Kepler doubled to right, scoring both Corbin Carroll and Gerardo Perdomo to make it 2-0. Pittsburgh answered right back in the bottom of the same inning as Lowe's infield single scored Jake Mangum. The Pirates tied it in the eighth when Reynolds doubled to center and Lowe scored. Then in the 10th, Lowe's infield single to first plated Cook for the go-ahead run, with Mangum moving up to third on the play.
Arizona starter Merrill Kelly held Pittsburgh in check for 5.2 innings, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits with 6 strikeouts and was named the game's top pitching performer despite not factoring into the decision. Taylor Clarke took the loss after allowing 1 run over 1.1 innings in relief. Pittsburgh starter Mitch Keller went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with 4 strikeouts, and the Pirates bullpen covered the rest of the way, with 4 relievers combining for 4.2 scoreless innings. Mason Montgomery picked up the win after a scoreless inning of work.
The win pushed Pittsburgh to 55-52 and extended its winning streak to two games, while Arizona fell to 55-52 with its third straight loss. Kepler finished 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs and sits at 999 career hits, one shy of 1,000. Keller, meanwhile, is nearing 3,000 career innings pitched and 50 career wins, while Kelly is closing in on 1,000 career strikeouts.
