Walbert Urena was the foundation. He worked 6.0 innings, allowing three hits and no runs while striking out seven and walking three, improving to 7-7 on the season with a 2.54 ERA. Ryan Zeferjahn closed it out with 1.2 scoreless innings, striking out four for his fourth save, and the Angels bullpen overall covered 3.0 innings without allowing a run.
Milwaukee starter Jacob Misiorowski matched zeroes with Urena for most of his outing, but in the second inning, Meckler homered to right center on a 388-foot shot, and Grissom scored ahead of him to make it 0-2. That was the lead Los Angeles would never relinquish. The Angels added on in the eighth when Neto reached on an infield single to third and Guzman scored to make it 0-3.
Misiorowski was sharp otherwise, going 7.0 innings and striking out 10 while allowing just two hits, but the two runs off Meckler's homer were enough to beat him. He falls to 11-5 with a 1.63 ERA. The Brewers managed five hits on the night but could never push a run across, managing nothing against Urena and then Zeferjahn.
The win snapped a Angels losing streak, moving them to 43-69, while Milwaukee, still atop its division at 69-42, saw its 1-game winning streak stopped at one.
