The game turned early and stayed that way. Atlanta scored three runs in the second inning, and Bryce Elder made sure it was enough, holding Miami to one run over seven innings in a 4-1 win at Truist Park.

Elder allowed just one run on one hit over 7.0 innings, striking out three and walking two across 84 pitches. He improved to 8-6 on the season, carrying a 3.69 ERA. Didier Fuentes closed it out with 1.1 scoreless innings for his second save, and the Atlanta bullpen combined for two innings without allowing a run.
Atlanta's second inning decided the game. Austin Riley's ground rule double scored Albies to put the Braves ahead, and Riley never let go of that lead. Drake Baldwin followed with a single to center that brought home both Dubón and Riley, making it 3-0. The Braves added another run in the third when Dubón singled to right and Harris II scored, pushing the margin to four runs.
Eury Perez took the loss for Miami, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits over 5.0 innings while striking out nine. His record fell to 5-9 with a 3.61 ERA. The Marlins' only run came in the fifth, when Mack grounded out to second and Caissie scored from third. Miami managed just three hits total and could not string together anything more against Elder or the Atlanta bullpen, which combined with Perez's relief corps to keep the offense limited to that single tally.
The win extended Atlanta's winning streak to seven games, improving the Braves to 69-45 and holding them atop the division. Miami dropped to 58-57, its second straight loss, as the Marlins sit third in their division.
