Alonso finished 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs, including the decisive blast off Freddy Peralta that broke a 3-3 tie and gave Baltimore the lead for good. Earlier in the game, Alonso had singled in the first inning to score Jackson Holliday and put the Orioles ahead 1-0. Dylan Beavers also contributed a solo homer in the second inning, and Jackson Holliday drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
The Rays jumped ahead early in the second inning when Chandler Simpson singled to score Junior Caminero, tying the game at 1-1. Kenny Piper then delivered a two-run homer to give Tampa Bay a 3-1 advantage. But Baltimore chipped away, with Holliday's sacrifice fly in the fifth tying it at 3-3 before Alonso's homer put the Orioles in front to stay.
Trevor Rogers earned the win for Baltimore, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings with 6 strikeouts. Freddy Peralta took the loss, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits in 7 innings. Rico Garcia closed out the ninth with a save, striking out 2 in a scoreless inning.
