Lawrence Butler provided the finishing touch with a home run in the seventh, while Alika Williams supplied the key offensive turn earlier in the game. Oakland also received a strong bridge from Brady Basso before Elvis Alvarado closed the ninth.
Alika Williams' triple brought Tommy White and Jeff McNeil home, putting Oakland in front after Michael Stefanic's double had brought Jonah Heim across. Darell Hernaiz then singled to bring Alika Williams home, and Butler's homer extended the lead.
