Ketel Marte provided the central swing, doubling home Ryan Waldschmidt and Ildemaro Vargas after Ildemaro Vargas had tied the game with a ground-rule double. Gabriel Moreno followed with a run-scoring single, while Corbin Carroll and Nolan Arenado added home runs in the sixth.

Joc Pederson put Texas ahead in the fifth when his double brought Jake Burger home. Arizona answered when Ildemaro Vargas scored Jordan Lawlar, then Ketel Marte’s double brought Ryan Waldschmidt and Ildemaro Vargas across the plate, giving the Diamondbacks the lead. Gabriel Moreno’s single brought Ketel Marte home, and the later home runs by Corbin Carroll and Nolan Arenado extended the advantage.

MacKenzie Gore kept Texas close early but departed after Arizona’s fifth-inning surge. Texas’ offense produced little after Pederson’s contribution, while Justin Martinez and Kevin Ginkel helped Arizona protect the lead.

The Diamondbacks’ one-inning burst changed the game’s mood completely: a tie became an Arizona lead, and the sixth-inning power finished the separation.
