Seager carried the Texas offense with a powerful all-around performance, while Nolan Arenado kept Arizona within reach. Arenado’s production gave the Diamondbacks a path back into the game after they fell behind.
Seager’s homer brought Justin Foscue home and gave Texas the lead in the first. Josh Jung’s single later brought Foscue and Seager across after a fielding error, Brandon Nimmo’s single scored Jung, and Danny Jansen’s double brought Ezequiel Duran home. Seager then singled to score Jansen and extend the lead.
Arizona answered with Gabriel Moreno’s homer, then Arenado’s homer brought Geraldo Perdomo and Corbin Carroll home. In the ninth, Tim Tawa’s double scored Arenado before Jordan Lawlar’s double brought Tawa across, but Texas held on.
Cal Quantrill earned the win after working through the middle innings, while Eduardo Rodriguez took the loss for Arizona. The Rangers extended their winning streak, but the Diamondbacks’ late rally showed how close the finish became.
