Taj Bradley anchored Minnesota with a sharp start, allowing only one earned run while striking out six. Anthony Molina also kept San Francisco within reach, but the Giants could not sustain their offense after the middle innings.

San Francisco opened the scoring when Shay Whitcomb scored on Drew Cavanaugh’s sacrifice bunt in the second. The Twins answered when Ryan Kreidler scored on Luke Keaschall’s triple in the sixth, tying the game, and Brooks Lee’s single brought Luke Keaschall home to put Minnesota ahead. Walker Jenkins later homered to extend the lead.

The Giants made a late push when Brett Harris scored on Jonah Cox’s force out in the ninth, but Jeff Hoffman and Minnesota’s relief corps held the margin.
