A late rally made the finish tense, but the Los Angeles Angels held off the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park. Seattle finally broke through in the eighth and ninth, yet the Angels’ earlier cushion stood.

Reid Detmers set the tone for Los Angeles with a scoreless start, limiting Seattle’s offense while striking out hitters. Bryce Miller took the loss for Seattle after the Angels built their advantage during his outing.
Seattle’s comeback began when Lazaro Montes scored after Julio Rodríguez was hit by a pitch. Randy Arozarena then scored on Michael Arroyo’s ground-ball single. In the ninth, Weston Wilson scored when Arozarena tripled, and Arozarena came home on Dominic Canzone’s homer.
The Angels answered with production from Zach Neto, Christian Moore, Wade Meckler and Vaughn Grissom, while Tayler Saucedo helped preserve the lead in relief. Seattle’s late surge narrowed the margin but could not erase the damage done earlier.
Los Angeles extended its winning streak, while Seattle’s losing streak continued. The game belonged to the Angels for most of the night, and the late rally only changed the mood of the finish.
