Matt Olson’s sacrifice fly brought Michael Harris II home in the first, giving Atlanta the lead. Dominic Smith’s home run then expanded the margin in the second, and Ronald Acuña Jr. reached on a fielder’s choice that brought Ha-Seong Kim across after a fielding error. In the fourth, Michael Harris II doubled to bring Ha-Seong Kim home, and Matt Olson followed with a single that scored Harris.
Miami answered with Javier Sanoja’s home run and Griffin Conine’s run-scoring single in the fourth. Heriberto Hernández’s triple brought Otto Lopez home in the seventh, but the Marlins could not close the gap. Drake Baldwin’s home run in the ninth, which also brought Michael Harris II home, gave Atlanta additional breathing room.
