Zack Wheeler provided the foundation, limiting the Rays to a lone run while working efficiently through his start. His performance kept Philadelphia in command before the bullpen finished the game.

Stott’s double brought Kyle Schwarber home in the first. J.T. Realmuto then doubled to bring Edmundo Sosa across, and Schwarber’s double brought home Realmuto and Trea Turner. In the fifth, Bryce Harper homered, Brandon Marsh’s sacrifice fly brought Stott home, and Edmundo Sosa homered to extend the lead.

Jonny DeLuca supplied Tampa Bay’s biggest offensive moments with home runs in the fifth and seventh. Victor Mesa Jr. later singled to bring Jorge Mateo home, but the Rays could not close the gap against Philadelphia’s pitching.

The Phillies’ early burst proved enough to withstand Tampa Bay’s late response, giving Philadelphia a firm finish at home.
