Freddie Freeman said on August 9, 2026 that the Los Angeles Dodgers are not worried despite recent offensive struggles and a losing streak, telling reporters "no one's worried in here."
Freeman characterized the team's difficulties as part of the game's natural rhythm. "It's baseball ups and downs. We're going to go through it," he said. He added that the pitching staff had been performing well in the recent games and that the offense needed to catch up, noting "our pitching has been pitching good the last couple games and as an offense we got to do better."
Freeman was informed that the team had gone 9-15 over the prior month, a claim he did not dispute but responded to directly. "There's no concern in here, Bill. We're a good team," he stated.
Freeman explained that his personal approach at the plate had not changed from a stretch when he was hitting well. "I've done the same thing that I was doing when I was getting three hits a game about a week and a half ago," he said. He also mentioned making solid contact in the game, noting he "hit the ball a little bit hard today."
Looking ahead, Freeman said he intends to build on his recent at-bats going into the next matchup. "I'll carry that positive positivity into tomorrow and we'll go get him tomorrow against the Royals," he said.
