Tommy Edman discussed the Los Angeles Dodgers' offensive production on August 18, 2026, highlighting back-to-back strong nights at the plate, including contributions from the bottom of the lineup. "It was good to get things going at the bottom of the lineup," Edman said.
Edman acknowledged that the offense had struggled for stretches before this recent turnaround. "We haven't really delivered the last uh, you know, couple of weeks," he said, adding that the club had since put together "a couple of uh really good nights consecutively" at the plate.
Edman pointed to his own performance as part of that stretch, noting back-to-back extra-base hits as a sign his swing is in a good place. "Yeah, no, I felt pretty solid today. Felt pretty good yesterday," he noted. He also described his approach at the plate, explaining that he runs into trouble when he chases pitches outside his zone. "I get in trouble and I start swinging out of the zone too much and chasing too many different things," he explained.
Beyond his own production, Edman emphasized that consistent approaches throughout the lineup have driven the team's recent success. "Just really good consistent approaches up and down the lineup," he said. He added that the club has performed well across the board recently, not just offensively. "Last couple days we've done a good job, you know, in pretty much all phases," he stated, tying that well-rounded performance to what the Dodgers have displayed during previous stretches. "That's what you got to do to go far in playoffs and um, it's kind of what we've shown the last couple of years," he mentioned.
Looking ahead, Edman said the goal is to sustain the offensive momentum through the remainder of the schedule. "Hopefully we can keep the momentum going and um, you know, just win a lot of ball games down the stretch," he said.
