Glasnow said his timing felt unusual from the start and that his pitches lacked sharpness and putaway ability. “The timing was just weird,” he said.
Rather than trying to finesse his pitches, Glasnow explained that he focused on executing the game plan and remaining aggressive. He also said that, when struggling with location, he tries not to leave pitches in hittable areas instead of simply trying to make them nastier. After early adjustment attempts failed, he acknowledged that “nothing was really like clicking today,” making competition the priority: “it's just a matter of just go out and compete as well as you can.”
