Max Muncy said on October 11, 2026, that the Los Angeles Dodgers are focused on preparing themselves rather than dwelling on the Milwaukee Brewers or outside criticism.

“we need to worry about ourselves,” Muncy said, adding that players reaching the postseason should not need outside criticism or additional motivation. He also stated, “you don't necessarily play the other team as much as you play yourself.”

Muncy noted that having previously faced a hard-throwing pitcher offers limited benefit because “it doesn't really give you any advantage having seen him before.” Discussing his teammate Tarik Skubal, Muncy said, “he goes about every single day the exact same,” describing Skubal as unusually consistent and relaxed on his start days. The relations record describes Muncy as a teammate of Skubal and as playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Muncy explained that postseason experience matters because “there's no simulating a playoff game,” and said players must “find a way to stay even keel” rather than ride the emotional swings of games. He said many Dodgers players have shared important moments over several years and “we've all become a family.”

Muncy also mentioned Clayton, Wade Miley, David, Manny Ramirez and Derek. He said Wade Miley started three straight games in 2018, recalled that Muncy was one home run away from reaching 20 postseason home runs, and referred to grinding through seven- or eight-month baseball seasons while playing 162 games. He joked about a ghost rumored to haunt the Dodgers' hotel: “if there's a ghost in there, come on in.”

Muncy stated that the Dodgers intend to keep playing for one another and believe their core still has substantial baseball ahead: “I don't think it is. I think we still have a lot of good baseball left in us.”
