Blake Snell said on October 15, 2026, that allowing three home runs was frustrating after he had not allowed one all season, but he intends to learn from the outing.
“I didn't give up one the whole year. So, to have three in a game is pretty frustrating,” Snell said. He also stated that the leadoff home run had occurred in back-to-back postseasons.
Snell noted that the leadoff homer frustrated him but would not define him because he was able to refocus. “it wasn't going to define me,” he said, adding, “it's something I got to learn from” regarding the leadoff home run and the three-homer outing.
Snell credited Vaughn Bowers for an excellent at-bat, saying, “what an at bat,” while acknowledging that the fastball he left over the middle could have been located better. Snell has known Bowers since Vaughn Bowers was drafted by San Diego, and Snell said he was with Bowers for approximately four years. Bowers later played for Tampa Bay.
Snell expressed respect for Bowers despite allowing the home run, saying Bowers had earned his success after experiencing many setbacks: “he's earned it. And hats off to him.”
Facing elimination, Snell called on the Dodgers to come together, fight and find a way to win, making that collective effort the team's stated focus.
