“This is it. This is it as a player,” Rojas said. He added, “I want to stay here. I want to wear this uniform and this logo in a different capacity,” expressing his desire to continue helping the organization.

Rojas noted that the Dodgers' veteran players “allowed me to be the leader that I wanted to be.” He said he wants to be remembered as “A guy who always did everything possible to help my teammates win.”

Rojas described the conclusion of his career as emotional, saying, “It's been 21 years in professional baseball and obviously the last four here.” He also stated that he had not played a game for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the eight or nine years before joining the organization. Dave Roberts gave Rojas the floor to speak to the players.

Rojas said the Dodgers' talent and organizational depth mean his retirement does not mark the end of a Dodgers era. “You can't really think about this being the end of an era on the Dodgers,” he said, adding that the team “They're not going to be satisfied with this loss.” He acknowledged that the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Dodgers in four games and expressed respect for Milwaukee.

Rojas also said taking off the Dodgers uniform and moving on with his life would be difficult because “This is what I've been for the majority of my life.” His stated plan is to remain with the Los Angeles Dodgers and continue helping the organization in a different capacity.
