Ty France drove in three runs, going 2-for-4 with a run scored. His third-inning single delivered the game's first breakthrough, and he added another RBI single in the eighth as San Diego's lineup kept the pressure on all night. Jackson Merrill backed him up with a 3-for-4 effort, including two doubles, part of an 11-hit Padres attack.

Miami got one back in the bottom half when Kyle Stowers' single drove in Ruiz, but San Diego tacked on a final run in the ninth when Cronenworth's single scored Tatis Jr.
Eury Perez kept Miami in the game for most of the night, working 7.0 innings and allowing 3 runs, all earned, on 7 hits with 2 strikeouts, but he took the loss to fall to 5-8 on the season, carrying a 3.56 ERA. The Marlins bullpen could not hold the line after his exit, allowing 4 runs over 2.0 innings as San Diego's late runs piled up. JP Sears started for San Diego and worked 3.1 scoreless innings before the Padres bullpen finished the job, combining for 6.1 innings and just 1 run allowed to secure the win and improve to 3-3 on the season.
