San Francisco did its damage early and never let go. The Giants scored in each of the first two innings, got a fifth-inning homer for good measure, and beat the Tigers 5-2 at Oracle Park.

Rafael Devers went 1-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBIs, and Willy Adames added a solo shot of his own, going 1-for-4 with a run scored. Jung Hoo Lee drove in two runs on a 1-for-3 night with a walk, and starter Adrian Houser worked 5.0 innings, allowing just 1 run on 6 hits with 4 strikeouts to earn the win.
Detroit struck first when Dingler grounded into a fielder's choice that let McGonigle score, but San Francisco answered immediately in the bottom of the first when Devers homered to center, scoring Lee ahead of him to make it 1-2. The Tigers tied it in the second on McKinstry's RBI single that brought home Torkelson, but the Giants took the lead right back — and for good — when Lee singled to center, scoring both Basabe and Gilbert to put San Francisco up 2-4. Adames added an insurance run with a solo homer to left in the fifth.
Keider Montero took the loss for Detroit despite pitching 6.0 innings, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. The Tigers out-hit the Giants 11 to 5 but couldn't turn that volume into more than two runs, managing just single tallies in the first and second innings before going quiet the rest of the way. Dylan Smith closed it out with a scoreless inning for the save.
The win snapped a two-game skid for San Francisco, now 49-67 on the season, while Detroit slipped to 56-60. Adames sits at 199 career home runs, three shy of the 200 mark, while Houser is closing in on 200 career games played after this outing.
