Nothing about this one stayed settled for long. Toronto tied it, Philadelphia tied it back, and the lead changed hands three times before the Phillies finally walked away with a 7-6 win in 12 innings at Citizens Bank Park.

Kyle Schwarber supplied the power that kept Philadelphia in front for most of the night. He went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three walks and four RBIs, a night that pushed his season totals to 35 homers and 68 RBIs. His three-run shot to left center in the third inning erased a scoreless tie, and his solo shot to right in the fifth added to the margin. On the mound, starter Jesus Luzardo was just as dominant, striking out 12 over 7.0 innings while allowing only 2 runs on 4 hits and a single walk.
The game turned late. Toronto tied it at 5-5 in the eighth when Giménez singled to right, scoring both Okamoto and Clement after Clement had already doubled home Kirk earlier in the inning. The score held into extra innings until the 12th, when Toronto's Sánchez grounded into a double play that brought Lukes home and put the Blue Jays ahead 6-5. Philadelphia answered immediately in the bottom half: Stott singled to right to tie it at 6-6, scoring Arraez, and two batters later Hill singled to center to bring home Realmuto and give the Phillies the lead for good at 7-6.
Shane Bieber took the loss for Toronto's rotation, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings with three walks and four strikeouts, carrying a 5.48 ERA. The Blue Jays bullpen kept the deficit manageable for much of the night, combining for 5.2 innings and 2 runs, but reliever Lazaro Estrada was tagged with the loss after allowing 2 runs in just 0.1 innings, his ERA now at 4.50. Ernie Clement, Alejandro Kirk and Vladimir Guerrero each contributed hits for Toronto, but the offense couldn't hold the late lead it built.
