Adell went 1-for-5 with a home run and 2 RBIs, his fifth-inning shot to left the play that put Cleveland ahead for good. Angel Martinez added three hits, including two doubles, scoring once and driving in a run, while Angel Genao and Austin Hedges each chipped in RBI singles and doubles during Cleveland's decisive seventh. Torres put the Tigers ahead with a solo homer to left center in the third, but Cleveland regained the lead for good in the fifth when Adell's two-run homer scored Ramírez and made it 4-3. The Guardians tacked on in the seventh as Genao's double brought home Martínez and Hedges' single scored Genao, pushing the margin to 6-3.
