Colorado twice let the Dodgers get away, then clawed all the way back to force extra innings, only to watch Los Angeles finish the job in the 10th. The Dodgers escaped Coors Field with a 6-4 win that needed one more inning than expected.

Mookie Betts and Enrique Hernandez did the early damage. Betts finished 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI, while Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Both were central to a fourth inning that briefly looked like it would settle the game. But Mickey Moniak kept Colorado alive, going 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and two RBI, his blast in the seventh forcing the tie that set up the extra-inning finish.
The Dodgers broke through first in the second inning, when Hernandez's line-drive single scored Betts to make it 1-0. In the fourth, Betts homered to left to make it 2-0, and two batters later Hernandez went deep to left again, this time driving in Kyle Tucker for a 4-0 lead. Colorado answered in the bottom of the fourth as Adael Amador doubled home TJ Rumfield and Connor Norby, cutting the deficit to 4-2. The Rockies tied it in the seventh when Moniak's two-run homer to right, with Jake McCarthy aboard, made it 4-4. Neither team scored again until the 10th, when Freddie Freeman's sacrifice fly brought home Andy Pages for a 5-4 lead, and Betts added an RBI single to score Teoscar Hernandez and make it 6-4.
Colorado starter Kyle Freeland lasted 3.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits with 5 strikeouts and a walk. Reliever Jimmy Herget took the loss after allowing 2 runs on 2 hits in two-thirds of an inning, with 1 earned. Roki Sasaki started for Los Angeles and worked 5.0 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits with 6 strikeouts and a walk. Alex Vesia blew the save, allowing 2 runs in the seventh, but Kyle Hurt earned the win with a scoreless inning, and Tanner Scott closed it out with a scoreless 10th for his 18th save of the season.
The win was the Dodgers' third straight, improving them to 77-51 and holding the top spot in their division. Colorado fell to 50-77, extending its losing streak to three. Tanner Scott sits at 96 career saves, four shy of 100, and one game shy of his 500th career appearance.
