Jake Burger supplied the game’s biggest offensive presence for Texas, homering and later doubling to bring Evan Carter home. Corey Seager also drove the attack, doubling to score Elias Díaz and Cody Freeman before adding another run-producing double later in the game.
Duran’s force out brought Pederson home for the go-ahead run in the first. Evan Carter’s double then brought Wyatt Langford across, and Duran scored on his single in the second. Chicago answered when Tristan Peters homered with Braden Montgomery aboard, but Seager’s double brought home Díaz and Freeman to restore Texas’ cushion.
Chicago’s offense could not sustain that response. Jose Urquidy absorbed the loss after Texas continued to add pressure, while Kumar Rocker earned the win after keeping the White Sox from mounting a sustained comeback.
