Tristan Peters carried Chicago's offense with a double that brought home Miguel Vargas and Braden Montgomery, then later homered to extend the lead. Sam Antonacci also set the tone, scoring early and later tripling to bring Drew Romo home.
Miguel Vargas opened the scoring when his single brought Sam Antonacci across, with a throwing error by Wyatt Langford also part of the play. Braden Montgomery followed with a single that scored Munetaka Murakami, and Peters' double brought home Vargas and Braden Montgomery. Brenton Doyle's single then brought Colson Montgomery and Peters home.
Texas answered with home runs from Jake Burger and Danny Jansen, while Ezequiel Duran, Justin Foscue and Jansen helped narrow the gap. Chicago responded through Colson Montgomery, Chase Meidroth, Antonacci, Vargas and Peters. Bryan Hudson earned the win, and Grant Taylor recorded the save as the bullpen protected the advantage.
