Hao Yu Lee powered the Tigers' offense throughout the game and delivered the final blow of the rally with a triple that brought Spencer Torkelson and Ben Malgeri home.

Colorado struck first when Hunter Goodman homered with Jake McCarthy and Connor Norby scoring. Detroit answered with Kevin McGonigle's homer, Max Clark's single and later scoring plays from Hao Yu Lee and Colt Keith, whose single brought Lee home to tie the game. Jake McCarthy then put Colorado back in front with a single that brought Jordan Beck and Adael Amador home.

Ezequiel Tovar's homer extended Colorado's lead in the eighth, but Detroit answered immediately. Gleyber Torres doubled to bring Hao Yu Lee home, Riley Greene's single scored Torres, and Spencer Torkelson's walk brought Zach McKinstry home to tie the game. Ben Malgeri's walk then brought Eduardo Valencia home and gave Detroit the lead, before John Peck's sacrifice fly and Lee's triple added insurance.

Jordan Romano was charged with a blown save, while Jaden Hill absorbed the loss after Detroit's rally. Beau Brieske earned the win as the Tigers' late surge extended their winning streak and left Colorado with another defeat.
