Bryan Woo was the foundation of the victory. He worked six innings with no earned runs and kept Oakland from finding a response, earning the win as Seattle's offense continued to build around him.
Dominic Canzone's homer brought J.P. Crawford home and gave Seattle the lead in the first. Randy Arozarena's homer then brought Weston Wilson and J.P. Crawford across in the second, stretching the advantage. Cole Young later homered with Josh Naylor scoring, while J.P. Crawford's homer brought Weston Wilson home in the seventh.
Oakland's only scoring play came in the third, when Shea Langeliers grounded into a force out and Henry Bolte scored. Gage Jump took the loss after Seattle's early pressure produced a difficult outing, and the Athletics' offense could not sustain its brief response.
Seattle's one-inning burst set the tone, but the Mariners kept adding to it through the late innings. The result was less a close contest than a complete offensive breakdown by Oakland after the opening turn.
