Carroll provided the defining finish, while Jordan Lawlar and Lars Nootbaar also supplied home runs for Arizona. Nootbaar’s blast in the third brought the game level after Miami had surged ahead.

Carroll’s homer brought Tommy Troy home and gave Arizona the lead after Miami had held the advantage. Earlier, Lawlar’s homer brought Tim Tawa across in the eighth, drawing Arizona within reach. For Miami, Javier Sanoja opened the scoring with a triple that brought Griffin Conine and Jakob Marsee home, then later homered; Jakob Marsee also homered, while Kyle Stowers’ double and Xavier Edwards’ single extended Miami’s advantage in the seventh.

Miami’s pitching held Arizona at bay for much of the night, but the final reliever, (gpid=sa:667652), surrendered the walk-off homer. Juan Morillo earned the win for Arizona.

Arizona extended its winning streak, while Miami’s losing streak continued. The game’s character was defined by the final rally: Miami had the lead, but Carroll’s swing ended the night in Arizona’s favor.
