Josh Jung opened the scoring with a homer in the first. Danny Jansen later brought Wyatt Langford home, and Evan Carter’s sacrifice bunt brought Jake Burger across the plate. Boston answered when Nate Eaton scored on Roman Anthony’s force out, then Story homered in the eighth to bring home Wilyer Abreu and Isiah Kiner-Falefa and give the Red Sox the lead.
Boston’s bullpen protected the turnaround, with Wyatt Olds earning the win and Garrett Whitlock closing the ninth. Texas’ relief effort could not preserve the early advantage.
