Travis Bazzana was the offensive catalyst, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs. His two-run single in the fourth inning put Cleveland ahead 3-1 and proved to be the decisive blow. Patrick Bailey added a three-run homer in the seventh, extending the lead to 8-1. Petey Halpin tied the game in the third with a solo home run before the Guardians' offense took over.
Colorado struck first when Willi Castro singled to center in the first inning, scoring Jake McCarthy. But that early lead lasted only two innings. Halpin's homer in the third tied the game at 1-1. In the fourth, Bazzana's line drive single to left scored Nathaniel Lowe and Angel Genao, giving Cleveland a 3-1 advantage it would not relinquish. Joey Cantillo, the Guardians' starter, was the game's MVP, allowing just one run over 4.2 innings while striking out five. He walked four but kept the Rockies off balance throughout his outing. The Cleveland bullpen covered the final 4.1 innings without allowing a run. Tanner Gordon took the loss for Colorado, surrendering five runs on nine hits over 5.1 innings.
Colorado fell to 50-78, extending its losing streak to four games.
