Wheeler set the tone with a sharp six-inning start, limiting Atlanta to one earned run while piling up strikeouts. Philadelphia’s relief corps then closed the game without allowing the Braves to pull even.
Luis Arraez gave Philadelphia the lead with a single that scored Kyle Schwarber in the first. J.T. Realmuto’s walk brought Trea Turner home later in the inning, and Schwarber’s groundout scored Derek Hill in the second. Schwarber added a home run in the fourth to extend the lead.
