Graham Pauley supplied Miami's biggest blow, homering to bring Owen Caissie home and erase the Dodgers' early advantage. Otto Lopez also provided a key spark, while the Marlins' bullpen protected the narrow margin.

Mookie Betts put Los Angeles ahead with a homer in the first, and Max Muncy followed with another. Pauley's homer tied the game in the second, then Heriberto Hernández scored on Otto Lopez's single to put Miami in front. Javier Sanoja later reached on a fielder's choice, with Griffin Conine scoring after a throwing error by Mookie Betts. Hunter Feduccia's single brought Josue De Paula home in the ninth, but Miami held on.

Tyler Glasnow was charged with the loss after Miami's second-inning surge. Los Angeles' offense had an early burst and a late push, but could not add another run after Feduccia's hit.

Cade Gibson earned the win, and Peter Fairbanks recorded the save as Miami's relief corps finished the job. The game belonged to late pressure: the Marlins created their lead early enough, then defended it when the Dodgers made their final move.
