The Phillies built this one early and never had to sweat the finish. Philadelphia scored in the first, second and third innings, piling up a 6-1 lead by the time the third was over, and cruised from there to a 7-3 win over the Nationals at Citizens Bank Park.

Bryson Stott was at the center of the outburst, going 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a walk. He scored the run that put the game further out of reach in the sixth and drove in another during Philadelphia's three-run third. J.T. Realmuto added two hits, including a double, with an RBI and two runs scored, while Trea Turner, Brandon Marsh and Alec Bohm each chipped in run-producing hits as part of a 16-hit night for the Phillies.
Philadelphia's lead was built in waves. Trea Turner scored in the first when Luis Arraez doubled to right, and Bryce Harper followed him home on Alec Bohm's double later in the same inning. Washington got one back in the second when Jacob Young singled home Harry Ford, but J.T. Realmuto answered right away, scoring on a Justin Crawford single. The third inning broke the game open: Brandon Marsh doubled home Bryce Harper, J.T. Realmuto singled in Marsh, and Bryson Stott doubled in Realmuto to make it 6-1. Kyle Schwarber later added an RBI single in the sixth that scored Stott.
Washington chipped away without ever threatening seriously. Andrew Pinckney homered to right center in the fourth, Keibert Ruiz's single scored Jacob Young in the sixth, and those were the last runs the Nationals would manage. Starter Miles Mikolas lasted 5.0 innings and took the loss, allowing 6 runs on 12 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeout, now 3-9 with a 5.89 ERA. Washington's bullpen covered 3.0 innings and allowed 1 run the rest of the way, but the deficit built against Mikolas proved too much to overcome.
Cristopher Sanchez worked 5.0 innings for the win, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts, improving to 15-4 with a 2.65 ERA. The Phillies bullpen finished it off, covering 4.0 innings and allowing 1 run. Philadelphia improved to 62-54, extending its winning streak, while Washington fell to 56-61. J.T. Realmuto sits at 293 career doubles, 300 within reach, and Luis Arraez is closing in on the same milestone with 194 of his own.
